Indian Premier League 2023: Indian Premier League In the second match of the (IPL) 2023 season, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) team faced the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team at Mohali ground. In this match, Sikandar Raza, a player of the Zimbabwe cricket team from the Punjab Kings team, got a chance to make his IPL debut. With this, Sikandar Raza has become the third player from Zimbabwe to play in IPL.
Sikandar Raza, 36, was born in Sialkot, Pakistan, after which he decided to settle in Zimbabwe to pursue a career in cricket. Sikandar managed to score 16 runs with the bat in his first IPL match, in which he gave his wicket to Sunil Narine.
Sikandar also played an important role in bowling, giving 25 runs in 3 overs at a crucial time for Punjab Kings and also made KKR team captain Nitish Rana his victim. In this match, due to rain, the result was given according to the Duckworth-Lewis rule, in which the Punjab Kings team was declared the winner by 7 runs.

Before Sikandar Raza in the IPL, Tatenda Taibu played for Zimbabwe in the Kolkata Knight Riders team in the 2008 season and after that Raymond Price got a chance to play for the Mumbai Indians in the 2011 season. In this season, the Punjab Kings team had spent 50 lakh rupees to include Sikandar Raza in their team.
